MarineMax Launches New Premium Certified
Pre-Owned Boat Program

            As the summer boating season heats up, MarineMax, the nation’s largest boating and yachting retailer, announces its new MarineMax Premium Certified Pre-Owned Boat Program. Designed to give boaters peace of mind when purchasing a pre-owned boat, the new program includes a one-year limited warranty, up to a 150 point inspection, cleaning and detailing, change of fluid and filters and scheduled services complete and up to date.

             “With the purchase of a certified pre-owned boat, MarineMax will ensure your boat runs smoothly and looks stunning,” says David Witty, director of operational excellence at MarineMax. “Taking the time to properly inspect everything from the running gear and drive systems to all component and accessories ensures you are equipped with everything you need to enjoy your time on the water.”

            The 150 inspection points include up to 14 inspection points on the cabin and interior, up to 28 points on accessories and components, up to 10 points on the hull, deck and fitting, up to 64 points on the engines and generators and up to 34 points on the running gear and drive systems.

             True North Yacht Services has relocated to a larger facility at 121 Warfield Avenue, in Venice, Florida. Both owners, Capt. Randy Yoder and Capt. Ross Hadley have extensive cruising, mechanical, and electrical experience on both power and sailing yachts.

            In the business of preventive maintenance for seven years, True North provides ongoing care for over sixty yachts that range from 15 to 80 feet in length. Clearwater Marine Aquarium to Host Fishing Tournament/Party

            Clearwater Marine Aquarium will host its first annual “Ted Williams Teammates Fishing Hall of Fame Tournament” and silent auction. The tournament will be led by local fishing expert and TV personality Captain Sergio Atanes. The event will give CMA an opportunity to educate the public about marine conservation and promote responsible fishing. The event will include a day of fun for the whole family with food, live music, a moonwalk, dunk tank, games and more.

WHEN:  Saturday, August 16

* Fishing Tournament (from 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.)
* Community Party (fun for the entire family at CMA from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.)
* Silent Auction (items to be on display at CMA all day, bidding ends at 6 p.m., followed by live auction)

WHERE:  Clearwater Marine Aquarium (located at 249 Windward Passage)

 - Boats will leave from the Aquarium’s marina for the fishing tournament
 - The Aquarium will host the other day’s events  

COST:  The cost of entry to CMA is $11 for adults, $9 for seniors and $7.50 for children (ages 3-12). Admission on that day includes games for kids (including a clown, bounce house, etc.). Food bands may be purchased for $7 for adults and $5 for children.

Entry fee for the fishing tournament is as follows:
- $125 per boat angler
- $50 per kayak angler (kayakers must fish in pairs)
